D.R. McCaleb

D.R. McCaleb is a Gen X survivor who grew up feral, unsupervised, and largely immune to warning labels. Raised on busted knuckles, late-night radio, and the unspoken understanding that you either figured it out or got left behind, he writes stories shaped by bad decisions, dark humor, and hard-earned perspective.

His work leans into coming-of-age tales, nostalgia with teeth, and the uncomfortable truth that some lessons only stick when they hurt a little. Equal parts professor and bar-stool philosopher, McCaleb brings a sharp eye for character, a soft spot for outsiders, and a long memory for the 1980s—when freedom was real and consequences were negotiable.

When he’s not writing, he’s probably questioning authority, respecting grit, and wondering how the hell any of us made it this far.
